Max Frank, age 99, a 14 year resident of Las Vegas died Tuesday, October 12, 2010. Max was born January 19, 1911 in Springfield IL to the late Samuel and the late Rebecca (Macknowitz) Frank. He was married to Lillian for 63 years, providing loving care to her during her illness the last six years of her life. Max grew up in Cincinnati OH, as one of 9 children. He was a boxer, participating in many amateur and a few professional boxing matches. Max served in the Navy during World War II. After the war, he owned and operated a Studebaker dealership. Later, along with his father and brothers, he worked as a foreman at the Manischewitz Company, overseeing matzo production in Cincinnati and New Jersey. He moved to Los Angeles CA to open a service station/garage with his brother Danny on Pico Blvd. After retirement, he moved to Reno then to Las Vegas. Survived by daughter Jackie Gibbs of Reseda CA, 2 grandchildren Jason Frank of Los Angeles CA and Dori Barnett of Woodland Hills CA , 3 great-grandchildren Max Klein, Jake Klein, and Sammy Barnett; brother Daniel Frank of Las Vegas NV and sister Esther Kravitz of Cincinnati OH. A graveside service will be held at 8:00 AM on Thursday, October 14 at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd., Boulder City, NV.
