Maxine Young

Maxine Anderson Young With tenderness and great love, we remember and celebrate our mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, Maxine Anderson Young. Maxine passed from this life, unexpectedly, on April 14, 2021. How we all wish we could have been there to bid her a final goodbye and send her lovingly on her way. Maxine was born in the small town of Shelley, Idaho on July 28, 1933 to Charles Irving Anderson and Elizabeth Ina Loveland. She was welcomed by her older brother, Bob. They were later joined by Jerry, Joyce, Dickie, and Sherry. She spent her early years in the Shelley-Jameston area. Her Dad found work in Las Vegas where they lived for a few years. They then moved to Idaho Falls, where Maxine graduated from High School. While in high school she met Robert LaMarr Young (Bob). They began dating and it didn’t take long for them to fall in love. After she graduated, and Bob was released from his service in the Navy, they were married on November 3, 1951. Maxine was a devoted and loving wife, together they had a wonderful marriage for 45 years, until Bob’s passing in 1996. They were blessed with five daughters and one son. They raised their children mostly in Idaho Falls; with a few years spent in the Boise area. Maxine was a loving mother who found joy in raising her children. Her many talents included fixing things to make them look new again, sewing, embroidery and handwork, gardening and cooking. She was an excellent cook! She also enjoyed working with Bob in their small business ventures. In 1976 Bob and Maxine moved to Island Park, Idaho. They loved their time living in the mountains, where they enjoyed having their family come for many memorable visits. After 16 years they moved to Boise to be closer to family. Maxine was happy being in Boise, spending time with her children and grandchildren, as well as her mother and siblings. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving in the Relief Society, Cub Scouts and Primary. Maxine leaves a legacy of love for all of her family, her 6 children, 28 grandchildren, 75 great grandchildren – and counting. She will be remembered for her delicious cookies, which she loved to share. Her memory will live on through her posterity as she continues to influence for good those she loved so well. Maxine is survived by her 5 daughters: Vicki (Robert) Borg, Carol Young, LeeAnn (Steven) Hemming, Shana Wright, Terri (Kerry) Lowder, and her daughter-in law, Melinda (Kurt) Young. She leaves behind her sisters, Joyce Genther and Sherry Anderson and a brother-in-law, Kenny Young, as well as her 28 grandchildren and 75 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Bob, Jerry, and Dickey, husband, Bob, and her son, Kurt. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 23 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 1450 W. Cayuse Creek Dr., Meridian Idaho, the viewing will be from 2:00-2:50 and the funeral service will begin at 3:00. Services will be under the direction of Accent Funeral Home. CLICK HERE FOR LIVE STREAM
