Melanie Ponwell

Melanie Beth (Boulton) Pownell, 59, of Westminster, CO, passed away on February 26, 2018, at Boulder Community Hospital following a short illness. Melanie was married to Robert (Bob) Pownell on January 19, 1985, in Denver, CO. Melanie was born in Ft. Dodge, IA on September 16, 1958, to Edwin C. and Betty Ann Boulton. She graduated from Valley High School in West Des Moines, IA in 1977. Melanie earned a certificate as a Medical Assistant from Akron Medical-Dental Institute in Akron, OH in 1997. She worked for the last 4 years as a Patient Access Representative in Women’s Imaging Department at Boulder Community Hospital in Boulder, CO. She was an active volunteer in her church, Flatirons Community Church in Lafayette, CO. She enjoyed traveling, dinner with friends and quiet evenings at home with her husband, Bob, of 33 years. Melanie is preceded in death by her father, Bishop Edwin C. Boulton of the East Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church, and her nephew, Brennan Boulton. Melanie is survived by her husband, Bob, of Westminster, CO, mother, Betty Ann Boulton, of Sebring, OH, sister (Ann) Lisa Boulton, and brother-in-law, James (Beau) Babcock, of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, brother, (Charles) Mitchell Boulton, sister-in-law, Georga, and nieces, Breanna and Shaila, grand-niece, Ava of North Canton, OH, and brother, James Boulton, and nephew, Tory, of Colorado Springs, CO. There will be no formal services. A Celebration of Life is planned in Ohio and Colorado. Further information for the celebrations will follow. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Boulder Community Hospital Foundation in Melanie’s name. Melanie loved working at BCH and her family will appreciate the charitable gift.
