Melinda Ann Henderson

Melinda Ann Henderson passed away in Olympia, Washington August 23, 2024.  Melinda grew up in Bellingham, Washington where she graduated from Sehome High School and worked for several years in her father’s local State Farm Insurance office. She lived in Yelm for many years, and she spent the last two years in the company of welcoming friends at her apartment complex in Lacey. Long disabled with rheumatoid arthritis, recent injuries and illnesses proved insurmountable and she entered hospice care in Providence St. Peter’s Hospital. 

An animal lover through and through, Melinda’s passion was breeding and showing Papillons. She was a long-time breeder, proudly and tenderly nurturing many litters of pups. For over twenty five years she bred and showed her dogs regionally, raising many generations of champion show dogs. Melinda was active in local, regional and national Papillon Society breed clubs for over thirty years, holding many leadership roles in those organizations.  Her AKC registered Trujoy Papillons have loving homes nationwide. 

Melinda Henderson’s parents were Ben Henderson and Marian (Bliesner) Henderson of Bellingham, Washington.  She is survived by her brother, Mark A. Henderson (and sister-in-law, Jackie McClure) and her nephew, Reed M. Henderson, of Bellingham, Washington. There will be no service. Memorials may be made to your local animal shelter.
