Melissa "Missy" Neace, age 49, passed away August 11, 2018 at her home in Nicholasville, KY. Melissa was born on September 29, 1968 in Richmond, IN to the late William and Shirley Irvin Smith. Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Edward Irvin, William Marion Smith and Richard Smith. She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Victoria Gomez. Missy was known as "Everybody's Momma" and she loved UK basketball. Melissa is survived by her daughters Shirley Nicole Smith and Lena (Timothy "Tim" Thomas) Bruner (Ernesto "Eric" Gomez) and her son Edward Allen Lay; grandchildren Octavia Smith, Aven Houp, Andrea Smith, Fernando Gomez and Nevaeh Gomez; several nieces, nephews and adopted children and grandchildren. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 15, 2018 from 5-8 PM at Clark Legacy Center-Brannon Crossing, 601 E. Brannon Rd. Nicholasville, KY . Services for Melissa will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 12:00 PM at Clark Legacy Center in Brannon Crossing with burial at Maple Grove Cemetery in Nicholasville, KY at 2:00 PM. Pallbearers are Mike Gill, Wayne Ervin, David Wayne Mastin, Danny Mastin, Mark Brown, Bryant Stivers, Tim Thomas, Will Hager and Ernesto "Eric" Gomez. Bishop David A. Marsee will preside over the funeral service for Melissa.
