Melvin J. Acevedo passed away on 8/11/2017. He was 79 years old. Melvin was born to Antonio and Cecilia Acevedo on 9/11/1937. Melvin served in the United States Navy, a decision in which he was very proud of. He then attended Chico State and graduated with his Bachelors degree in Art. Melvin loved a lot of things had many passions. These included painting beautiful art, sculpting with clay and pottery, doing photography and he had a love for music. Melvin also had a passion for eating great food. Melvin was a member of Chico Seventh Day Adventist Church as well. He was a loving father and a wonderful grandfather who will be deeply missed. Melvin is survived by his son Michael A. Acevedo of Newport Beach, his daughter Sharon R. Acevedo-Cicala and son-in-law Anthony Cicala of Pittsburg, California, as well as his three grandchildren Joseph A. Cicala and Gianna R. Cicala and Linden Acevedo of Newport Beach, California.
