Melvin A. Hart III, 57, of Oak Lane, passed away Friday evening at the St. Mary s Hospital in Amsterdam. Born December 30, 1949 in Schenectady, New York, he was the son of the late Melvin A. and Martha Brewer Hart II. He attended Schenectady schools. Melvin was employed at the Jumpin Jack s in Scotia, NY for 37 years where he started out working as a cook and then management for eight years until retiring this year due to ill health. He enjoyed going to the Fonda Speedway, football games for the Amsterdam Rams, fishing, working on his computer and loved going out for a coffee with his cousin Frank Brewer. On June 24, 2006, he married the former Beth Wilson. Besides his wife he is survived by a step-son, Michael Hart Jr. of Gloversville; two step-daughters, Bobbie Jo Bouley of Schenectady and Patricia Hart of Vails Mills, NY; three brothers, Bobbie Hart of Massachusetts, Mike Hart Sr. of Middle Grove, NY and Joe Hart of Ballston Spa, NY; a sister, Barbara VanBuren of Ballston Spa; ten step- grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Melvin was predeceased by a step- grandson, Cory. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday October 3, 2007 at 11:00 AM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, with the Rev. Brian Norman officiating. Burial will take place at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Tribes Hill, NY. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 7 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Melvin s memory to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Road, Loudonville, NY 12211.
