Melvin John Steinke
May 8th, 1933 - August 16th, 2010
text-align: justify was born the oldest of three by Richard G. Steinke and Veronica M. Watercutter in Botkins, Ohio on May 8, 1933. He passed away at home on August 16, 2010. text-align: justify Mel enlisted in the Coast Guard in May of 1952 and served as a Radio Airman in Port Angeles until May of 1956. During this time he married Diane Bruseau. In 1959 they settled in Edmonds, WA. Mel started his civilian career as a cookware salesman until 1975 and then became a successful Realtor until his final days. text-align: justify Mel was a longtime U.W. TYEE supporter and loved his Huskies. He enjoyed touring on his Motorcycle with the Boys, and rolling dice with the other Boys at the Senior Center. He was a charismatic and outgoing leader in Edmonds. Mel was preceded in death by his wife Diane of 52 years and his sister Darlene. He is survived by sons, Bryan and Michael, daughter-in-law Casey and grandchildren, Joel and Alexandria, as well as his brother Bob.
