Meredith Curtis McLouth, 80, passed away on September 14, 2022 due to colon cancer and complications following surgery at Nathan-Littauer Hospital in Gloversville, NY. He was known as “Bud” to family and friends and had recently moved back to New York State after living in California for many years. Bud was born on March 31, 1942 in Amsterdam, NY, son of Mehrley and Edith (Weiderman) McLouth. He attended primary and secondary schools in Amsterdam. He then studied art and photography at Maryland Institute College of Art and at Syracuse University where he obtained a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Photography. He was an Instructor and Photographer at SUNY Cortland; a Photo Instructor at Glendale Community College; Photo Department Manager at Maryland Institute College of Art; Photo Instructor at the School of Visual Arts in New York City; and Instructor - Large Format ICP - at International Center of Photography. Bud is predeceased by his father Mehrley in 1961, his mother Edith in 2008, and his sister Melanie (McLouth) Zumbolo in 2016. He is survived by his sister Judith (Judi McLouth) Lethbridge of Pawlet, VT; his niece, Cheri Zumbolo of Amsterdam; nephew, Thomas and Renee Zumbolo of Fayetteville, NY; nephew, Brian and Stephanie Zumbolo of North Oaks, MN; as well as multiple grand and great-grand nieces and nephews; and cousins. Cremation will take place at Vale Cemetery and Crematorium in Schenectady, NY.
