Merrie Virginia Minger was born December 24, 1926, in Park Ridge, IL. Her parents were Frederick and Mary Minger. She also had a younger sister named Pat Minger. Merrie Attended Maine East High School and graduated with honors. She then attended Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority and she graduated with honors. She also met her future husband, William Manbeck. After school, she moved back to Park Ridge and worked for the Belgium Consulate in Chicago. She married William Manbeck in 1949. In 1957, they adopted Marilyn Manbeck and in 1959, adopted Mark Manbeck. Merrie was a stay-at-home mother; avid bowler and bridge player; and a member of the Park Ridge Country Club and the Park Ridge Presbyterian Church. She also loved her dachshunds, Fritz and Max. She retired to Florida and belonged to the Plantation Golf and Country Club and Trinity Presbyterian Church. She was predeceased by her parents, Fred and Mary Minger, her husband William Manbeck, and her daughter Marilyn Rossberger. She is survived by her son Mark Manbeck, her sister Pat Vorenburg, and four grandchildren; Megan Manbeck Hurst of Tuscaloosa, AL; Mark Manbeck, Jr. of Lake Butler, FL; Julie Rossberger Holler and William Rossberger of Arlington Heights, IL.
