Mia Lefforge Blake
March 5th, 1959 - June 21st, 2017
Mia Lefforge Blake, 58, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2017. Mia was born in South Korea to Soo Ok Christopher on March 5, 1959. When Mia was 2, she was adopted by Orland and Thelma Lefforge and moved to Hawaii, where she spent most of her childhood. She traveled with her family through Europe for a year, living in a Volkswagen camper, giving her the chance to see much of the world in her first 5 years of life. At 18 Mia joined the Army, where she met her future husband Andrew Blake. They were married for 35 years, having one daughter. In 1986, Mia found her birth mother, eventually moving to Washington State to be near her birth family. Mia had a great talent for anything artistic. She could look at any piece of art, in any medium, and figure out how to make it. She worked with glass, pottery, metal, paint, fabric, weaving, knitting, quilting and more. Her friends and family treasure the gifts of art she shared with them over the years, knowing she was sharing her creativity, hard work, patience and love in every piece. Mia is survived by her husband Andrew, her daughter Tiffany (Joeb) and grandson; her birthmother Soo (Verne); sister Melinda (David) of Seabeck WA; sister, Andrea (Forrest) of Atlanta, GA; sister Susan, of Belfair, WA and brother, Daniel (Angela) of the Philippines. Additionally she had numerous nieces and nephews across the United States and in the Philippines. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to CHI Franciscan Hospice House in Tacoma, WA.
