February 22nd, 1948 - December 22nd, 2018
Michael Eugene Adams, age 70, passed away December 22, 2018 in Olympia, Washington. He was born in Olympia, on February 22, 1948 to Eugene and Alice Adams. He lived there until 1983 when he moved to Shelton, Washington. Michael served in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War (March 1968-January 1970) as a Special Services Medic. He married Alice Ross on May 12, 1972 and their daughter, Michelle, was born March 10, 1973. He worked at the Shelton Correctional Center as a correctional officer. His hobbies included working on the two Studebaker Speedsters and the 1948 Studebaker pickup he owned. He loved spending time in antique stores and second-hand stores, collecting everything from stick pins, match safes, lunch boxes, and Roy Rogers collectibles, among many other things. And if he knew you collected something, he would go out of his way to find things for you too. Michael loved animals and was known by his friends as a man who would always stop to help anyone. He had a special relationship with his grandson, Miles, and spent many hours with him in the fort that they built in the woods behind his house. Michael is survived by his wife, Alice Adams; daughter, Michelle (Max) Davidson; grandson, Miles Davidson; brothers, Kevin Adams and Tim Adams; and sisters, Therese Barkus and Julia Adams. He was predeceased by his parents, and brothers, Denis Adams and Roger Adams. Services will be held Friday, January 18, 2019, 1:30 p.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church’s St. Joseph Chapel in Olympia.
