Michael Justin Bennett
January 29th, 1973 - May 15th, 2021
Michael “Mike” Justin Bennett, 48, passed away on Saturday, May 15, 2021, at Swedish Hospital in Seattle, Washington after an incredibly brave fight with COVID-19 and his third battle against Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Mike was born on January 29, 1973 in Everett, Washington to Patrick “Pat” and Evelyn (Wahleithner) Bennett. He was a 1992 graduate of Mariner High School. Mike married Stefanie Bennett (Olds) on December 5, 2009 in Snohomish, WA. He is survived by Stefanie, his father (Pat), his daughters (Alyson, 22, and Aubrey, 19), his three brothers (Steve, Dave and Joe), his three sweet dogs (Bridget, Kacey and Ginger), his extended family, and a close group of friends that he considered family. Mike is preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn. He worked as a construction superintendent with Venture General Contracting, displaying a wonderful work ethic and being the kind of person anyone would be lucky to work with. Mike truly lived for the simple pleasures in life: spending time with his friends and family, tinkering on projects around his home, and assembling Lego sets. The last year was agonizing for him as we all tried our best to protect him from the possibility of spreading COVID to their house; all he wanted was a house full of friends. You don’t meet someone like Mike very often. He went to hell and back several times during cancer treatment but you wouldn’t have ever guessed he was feeling as crappy as he was. He still would have done anything for anyone. While Mike would have loved for everyone he knows to be together to celebrate his life, a private celebration is being planned and guests will be notified of details privately. The family suggests memorial contributions made in Mike’s name to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, https://www.lls.org. As an expression of sympathy, donations can be sent to Stefanie Bennett, P.O. Box 425, Edmonds, WA 98020, if you wish. But that’s the hero gig. Part of the journey is the end, everything is going to work out exactly the way it’s supposed to. -Tony Stark, Avengers Endgame
