Michael L. Burtt

Michael L. Burtt, 72, of Grand Street, passed away peacefully, December 26, 2015 at the Albany Medical Center after a short illness. Born July 5, 1943 in Amsterdam, New York he was the son of the late Arthur and Jane Waveris Burtt Sr. He was a lifelong resident and he was a graduate of the Wilbur H. Lynch High School Class of 1962. Michael was an outstanding athlete in high school where he played football and was on the track team breaking many state records. He was employed as a machinist for the General Electric Company in Schenectady for over 20 years. Michael enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing and working on his model trains. Survivors include two sons, Michael J. Burtt (Bridgett) of Syracuse and Christopher A. Burtt of Amsterdam; three daughters, Theresa Burtt of Amsterdam, Carolyn Ardizzone of Amsterdam and Lindsey Jada of California; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Michael was predeceased by his brothers, Arthur L. (Artie) Burtt Jr. and Lauren M. Beanie) Burtt. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY.
