Michael J. Champagne

Michael J. Champagne, 75, of Cambridge, WI died Thursday, October 27, 2022, in his home after a short illness. He was born in St. Prosper Que, Canada on March 6, 1947. The son of Dennis and Florentine (Gagnon) Champagne. He spent many years in the Lewiston, Maine area, before going back to Canada, where he met and married Renelle Roy of St. Prosper Que, Canada, on July 26, 1969. They went on to have 3 children, all while following construction work and moving to many states. In 1977, he started his first drywall company. Eventually settling in Wisconsin in 1990, where he continued with a larger drywall company. Michael enjoyed hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling, especially in the Jackman, Maine area. Michael was a very generous, giving person to many. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Renelle (Roy) Champagne of Cambridge, WI; his three children, Karen Bondehagen (Erik) of Fort Atkinson, WI, Stephen Champagne (Melonie) of Cambridge, WI and Tina Pellerin (Bronx) of Rockford, Illinois; three sisters, Collette, Therese, and Georgette; his grandchildren, Anthony, Alex, Shawn, Tyler, Patric, Sharon, Emma Rose, Jenny and Valerie; and his great grandchildren, Justine, Lucas, and Valentina. He will be missed by all family and friends. Thank you to Rainbow Hospice and to the help from Katie Golich. Visitation will be held at Nitardy Funeral Home in Cambridge, WI on November 5, 2022, from 11:00 A.M. until 3:00 P.M. No funeral services to be held.
