Michael R. Covey
April 26th, 1948 - January 3rd, 2013
Michael Rolin Covey Sr., 64, of Broadalbin, NY passed away peacefully on January 3, 2013 at St. Mary's Hospital following a brief illness. He was born in Amsterdam, NY on April 26, 1948 a son of the late Rolin and Ilene Mary Covey. Michael is a life time resident of the area and a graduate of the Wilbur H. Lynch High School. He worked for various construction companies throughout the years. He was last employed for Ross Blacktop in Ballston Spa, retiring in 2007 due to ill health. Mike also enjoyed Nascar and Racing. He also raced at Fonda Speedway in the 70's. Survivors include sons Michael R. Covey, Jr. and wife Kristin of Galway, NY, Anthony L. Covey of Glendale, AZ daughter Amanda M. Covey of Rock City Falls, NY, his brother Frank Covey and wife Donna of Amsterdam, NY and a sister Rebecca Brown and husband Earl of Gloversville, NY. He is also survived by five grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents Mike was predeceased by his brother Clifford Covey in 1991, his brother Chris in 2011 and his sister Linda Porath in 2011. Family and Friends are invited to join in a time of remembrance on January 11, 2013 from 3pm until 5pm at the Betz Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home. 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam NY 12010. Burial will take place in the Spring at Green Hill Cemetery in Amsterdam.
