Daleiden/Eckes Family Memories - July 5, 2014 Posted: July 5, 2014 | Last Revised: July 5, 2014 My mother, Loretta, was a sister of Mike's father, Herb. Our two families frequently visited each other in the 1950s when us cousins were in grade school. The Daleidens lived in Albert Lea, MN; we lived in North Mankato, MN, just a couple hours drive away. We saw them always at the end of summer at the traditional Daleiden family gathering in Hampton, MN where our Daleiden parents were born and raised. There was more than one Easter our families spent together. Mike's easy demeanor and wry humor were evident even in those days. He was a joy to be around, always going along with whatever was happening. Jim lucked out with his only brother, and they were good to and for each other. RIP Mike and know you are missed.

God bless him. He was such a great guy and fantastic fiance'. I can't believe he is gone. I loved him very much and know that he is with GOD (and Olaf).

Mike was a good friend to us both. We'll never forget his kindness, his wonderful laugh, and the mean martini he could make! He will have a special place in our hearts forever. Rest in peace, dear man.
