Michael Anthony Evangelist

Michael Anthony Evangelist, first-born son of Dr. and Mrs. Felix Evangelist, died on May 14, 2014 at Novant Health Medical Center. He was 55 years old. Mike was a kind, loving and devoted son. His greatest attribute was his compassion for others and he was always ready to help less-fortunate people. He was born on April 24, 1959. He graduated from the Patterson School and also from Appalachian State University. Mike is preceded in death by his esteemed father and is survived by his faithful mother, Paula Evangelist and three brothers, Gregory Paul Evangelist and wife, Carol and son, Carter Crawford; Steven Dillon Evangelist, all of Charlotte and Mark Eric Evangelist of Wrightsville Beach, NC. A service in celebration of his life will be held at 10:30a.m. Saturday, May 17, 2014 in the Chapel of St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 3016 Providence Road, Charlotte with Father Frank O"Rourke, officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. prior to the memorial service. A reception will follow at the church.
