LEGACY

Mickey leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and laughter that will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew him. Im sure anyone reading this is well aware of his passion for his idol, Frank Sinatra and that his favorite song was “My Way”.   Mickey proudly served his country in the United States Army as a specialist fourth class on the Nike Hercules Missile. Mickey began his career with great pride as a Philadelphia Police Officer, serving his community with devotion. A man of many talents and dedication, he later joined the Teamsters Union, Local 463 in Collingswood, as a truck driver for Schmidt Baking Co. Mickey exemplified hard work and commitment throughout his many years there until his retirement. When he wasn’t hard at work, you could find him out to dinner on a Saturday night with long time close friends or venturing to his favorite vacation spot in North Wildwood, to meet up with more good friends at the “Nut Club”.  Among his greatest joys in life were his Philadelphia Eagles and Philadelphia Phillies. Ever the avid fan, Mickey could often be found cheering on his beloved teams with unwavering enthusiasm. His infectious smile, animated spirit and contagious personality made him the life of the party, a role he cherished as much as his deep love for his family. It never failed that by the end of the night there was always a stranger that he would now call friend. .
