Michael Scott Garner

Michael Scott Garner 56, of Kingsport passed peacefully on July 15, 209 with his family by his side. He was born on October 29, 1962 to the late James and Orange Lee Garner. Scott worked in the printing industry for over 20 years. He was a music enthusiast and enjoyed playing guitar, tinkering on cars, and spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his sister, Robin Potter; father and mother-in-law, Roger and Patricia Sexton. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 24 years, Vicki Sexton Garner; daughter, Nicole Sexton Qualls; son, Chase Garner; grandchildren, Camdyn and Ryker Qualls; brother-in-law, Jerry Sexton and fiancé Jaime, and Terry Sexton and wife Joan; nephew, Brandon Sexton; niece, Briana Sexton. The family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home downtown, Kingsport. A celebration of life service will follow with Pastor Phil Whittemore officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society at 871 N Weisgarber Rd, Knoxville, TN 37909. Carter-Trent Funeral Home is serving the Garner family.
