Michael C. Grimes April 14th, 1942 - July 14th 2016 Join us for a Celebration of Life! Michael Clinton Grimes was born in McMinnville Oregon and graduated from Dallas High School. He went on to play football for Oregon State and completed a Masters in Education. He spent the majority of his life teaching and coaching at Rowe Junior High in Milwaukie and summer months working for Oregon State agricultural department surveying fields all over the state of Oregon. Michael passed away at his home in Oregon City that he built 42 years ago. His home was his castle and he enjoyed no better place on God's green earth, than spending time in his gardens and with his devoted wife of 35 years, Kathleen Grimes. Michael survived by his two daughters Angela Henry and Krista Creevan; as well as his four grandsons, Matthew Stoneberg, Drew Stoneberg, Tommy Stoneberg and Augustus Henry. In his passing he leaves behind those who loved him the longest, his sister Jocelle Coate, his brother Steven Grimes, and his cousin and fraternity brother, Bill Carson. But if you knew Michael, you knew that he made friends wherever he wandered. He will be missed at the United Methodist Church in Oregon City, at the Oregon State football stadium, at the Oregon State Fair, amongst the Teamsters whom his wife Kathleen worked with, and in the hearts of every student and teacher he shared time with over the course of his career. I think we all agree that Michael was most known for his generosity. He never missed a tithe to his church nor did he ever miss an opportunity to help a family member in need. All of his grandchildren went to college because he deemed higher education as necessary and helped them financially. Because he gave in abundance, he was a prosperous man and loved by many. We wish to honor and celebrate the life of Michael Grimes; as well as give thanks for the gifts he has given us and the stories he has left us to tell in his passing, at the High Rocks Restaurant & Lounge in Gladstone Oregon on Saturday, August 6th, from 11:00am -1:00pm. 915 E Arlington St. ~ Gladstone OR 97027. Come help us toast to Mike's memory, mend our hearts with laughter and thank God for the joy he has delivered to each and every one of us! "One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek Him in His temple."
