Michael “Mike/Mikey” Wayne Keane, passed away May 16, 2024 in Bradenton, FL. Born in Washington, DC, September 22, 1949, Mike grew up in Berwyn and Greenbelt, Maryland. Mike served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War period from 1967 to 1971 and was stationed in Europe, Asia and North America. He was a member of American Legion Post 166 in Ocean City, Maryland. Mike completed his bachelor’s degree in Design from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1978. Mike was a professional press operator for the Washington Post for 22 years retiring in 2001 to Ocean Pines, Maryland. Throughout his life, Mike was a true artisan designing and constructing many interior design and architectural projects; creating unique fine art pieces using glass, woodworking, specialty lighting and other materials. He was collector of art and greatly influenced by the school of Art Deco. Mike had a love and appreciation for music including an expertise in fine audio systems, incorporating them into many of his design projects. Mike always treasured his Irish heritage. He was pre-deceased by his brothers James, Dennis and Edward Keane, daughter Jessica Keane and is survived by his wife Susie Keane, daughter Melanie Mongelli, son-in-law Eric Mongelli, grandchildren Amber, Noelle and Michael Mongelli. He is so loved by his family and will be deeply missed.
