Michael Maffeo

MAFFEO, Michael, Jr., 59 of Land O’ Lakes, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2009. He was born in Staten Island, NY and moved to Florida from Maryland in 1977. He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam era. He was a purchasing manager for CF Industries. Michael was a 22 year member of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Land O’ Lakes where he was an usher, veterans chair person and Eucharistic Minister. Michael was a member of the American Legion Post #108. Michael’s passion since 2003 was Cursillo. He was an Ultreya Leader for the Cursillo Movement at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church since August 2004. Michael lived and breathed the Cursillo message. He is survived by his wife, Susan of 36 years; daughter, Elizabeth and husband, Barry Bulger of Land O’ Lakes; mother, Muriel Maffeo; brothers, Robert and wife, Karen and Vincent and wife, Cheryl; sister, Muriel and husband, Stan Timari, all of Staten Island, NY, as well as, several nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be held Saturday, June 27 at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Land O’ Lakes. Internment will be held at Florida National Cemetery with military honors by the Marine Corps League. The family will receive friends Friday, June 26th at the Loyless Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hernando-Pasco Hospice or H.
