Michael G. Makranin (77), affectionately known as Pap-Pa, peacefully passed away at his home on Monday, November 26th, 2012. He is survived by his wife Ruthann and daughter Melissa, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is also survived by his daughter Andrea and “son” John Hoskins, four grandchildren, 3 grandchildren-in-law, and 2 beautiful great-grandchildren all of Portland, Oregon. Private memorial services will be held to celebrate the life of a dedicated U.S.A.F. Korean War Veteran who dearly loved his country, his family, and Steeler football. Pap-pa had requested that donations be made in his memory to the John Wayne Birthplace Museum in Winterset, Iowa and to American Legion Post 158 in Tigard, OR.
