April 23rd, 1979 - July 20th, 2021
Michael Rene Mares was born on April 23, 1979 to Rene Mares and Virginia Baughn in Tucson, Arizona. Michael passed away too soon on July 20, 2021 in Colorado Springs, Colorado after fighting against the COVID-19 virus. Preceding him in death are his maternal & paternal grandparents. Surviving him is his loving wife; Shana Mares, parents; Virginia Baughn-Wolfe and Rene Mares, his children; Ariana Mares, Sofia Mares and Michael Mares, brother; Kyle Landrum and sister; Melissa Mares. Michael had a Master's of Science Degree specializing in Cybersecurity from Webster Univeristy and proudly served his country for 10 years serving in the United States Air Force as a Staff Sergeant E-5. He went on to work a civilian based job with the United States Space Force working Cybersecurity. A Celebration of Life for Michael will be held at Charis Christian Center on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at 1:00PM, 10285 Federal Dr, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80908.
