Michael Erwin Marshall
June 13th, 1952 - January 14th, 2018
Michael Erwin Marshall passed away Jan. 14, 2018, after a short battle with melanoma cancer. He touched many lives with just his smile alone, his gentle spirit and positive outlook on life. Mike was born June 13, 1952, in Berkeley, Calif. to Erwin and Dorothy Marshall. He grew up in Lafayette, Calif. with lots of friends and playing many sports. He graduated from Campolindo High School in 1970 and from San Francisco State University. From 1978-1980 he worked on a form crew at the Climax mine in Leadville. He was a geologist for Chevron from 1981-1990 and received his teaching credentials from St. Marys College in Moraga, Calif. soon becoming a teacher and basketball and golf coach. He was an instructor for the Correction Facility boot camp in Buena Vista. He loved his family with a passion. He ran five Pikes Peak marathons. He had a deep connection with the outdoors and could hike forever. He enjoyed watching sports, especially hockey and golf. He is survived by his best friend and wife Marylynn, daughters Molly (Jason) Matheson and Kelly (Chris) Boehler, son Kevin Marshall and five grandkids that adored him immensely: Gavin, Allison and Jolene Matheson and Tegan and Zayla Boehler. Friends and family are invited to his celebration of life on Thursday, Feb. 8, at 6:30 p.m. at Oak Park Hill Chapel, 3111 N. Main St., Walnut Creek, California.
