Michael “Mike” Joseph Harkins

Michael “Mike” Joseph Harkins passed away on December 25, 2018 at the age of 82. Mike will forever be remembered by his wife of 58 years, Roberta Harkins. They were married in Miami, Florida at Corpus Christi Church on September 17, 1960 and moved to Ocala in 1972. Mike is predeceased by his parents James Harkins Sr. and Isabella Harkins, his brother James Harkins Jr, his sisters Cathy McCabe, Margaret Relihan and Joan Harkins. He is lovingly remembered by his sister Helen Byrnes, his 5 children Lisa(Craig), Christine(Dee), Michael Jr.(Shelia Bartczak), Jennifer(Russ) and Matthew(Tarah). Mike also has 5 beloved grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mike was born July 24, 1936 in Syracuse, NY. He was a member of the first graduating class at Archbishop Curley High School in Miami, FL. Upon graduation, Mike joined the United States Coast Guard and after completing his service he worked as an automotive sales manager with Ford. Mike had many interests that included history, reading, watching football (especially the Dolphins and Notre Dame), woodworking, fishing and camping. Mike enjoyed spending time with his family, especially when everyone came together at the holidays. Funeral Mass will be held at 10am, Friday December 28th at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, 5 SE 17th Street, Ocala FL, 34471. A reception will take place after the service at the Blessed Trinity Fellowship Hall.
