Michael "Mike" E. Huckabee

Michael Eugene Huckabee was born August 26, 1954, in Fullerton, CA to Eugene Huckabee and Alma Hope Higbee. He was the youngest of four children. Mike lost his father to an industrial accident as a young child and moved to northern California with his remaining family. He was raised in Hilmar and Modesto, where he graduated from high school.Mike worked at Moore's Business Forms in Modesto and Triangle Pacific in Lodi before starting his own business, Mike's Appliance Repair and Service in 1986. After ten years he was forced to close his business due to illness. In 2000, Mike went to work for AT&T, eventually becoming a fiber splicer, and worked there until 2014, when he was diagnosed with liver cancer. Mike is survived by his wife of 36 years, Sharon, his children Tonya Giles (husband Gary), Justin Estoll (wife Melissa) and Jamie Amador, 13 grandchildren and many nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces. He will be missed by many good friends that were like family over the years. Mike spent the last year of his life happily driving his motorhome around the western US, visiting family and friends, watching the total eclipse of the sun and driving a racecar at California Speedway. He had a zest for life and determination that will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved him. There will be a celebration of Mike's life on July 22, 2018, from 1 to 4 PM at the American Legion Hall, 320 N. Washington, Lodi, CA 95240. Friends and family are invited to come and share the memories of his time with us. Pictures and stories are welcome. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Legion for their generosity in the use of the hall.
