Mike loved spending time with family and friends…good times and laughter were always guaranteed.

Mike passed away peacefully while surrounded by loved ones on October 11, 2024.  Born on July 23, 1941, to Mervin and Florence Patneaude, Mike was born in St. Paul Minnesota and after transitioning to the state of Washington spent most of his lifetime living in the greater Seattle and Edmonds areas.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, son Robert Patneaude, and granddaughter Erin Rollins. He is survived by his loving wife Betty, his daughters Beth (Scott) Bride and Danielle (Kevin) Tarbert, sons Joe (Jo-Ann) Patneaude and Steve (Erin) Patneaude, grandchildren Andrea Patneaude, Shelley (Ryan) Lekness, Stephanie (Bruce) Crabtree, Tommy (Shannon) Rollins, Lacey (Tanner) Garbe, Derek (Sarah) and Levi Bride, Lilly, Alex and Molly Patneaude, Brady, Drew and Ella Patneaude and Avery Tarbert, brothers David (Judy), Jim (Mary), Rick (Debbie), Mark (Ann), sisters Susan (Warren) Goodson, Kate (Jack) Kinsman as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces and friends.

Mike loved spending time with family and friends. Whether it was golfing with his brothers, sons or close friends, watching his beloved Huskies, listening to the Mariners, participating in numerous family gatherings, holiday get togethers, or having lunch at the 520 Grill with his O'Dea alumni buddies, good times and laughter were always guaranteed; especially when he would share legendary stories, often times mischievous moments growing up with his pals from O’Dea and memorable occasions with his brothers and sisters.

More than anything, Mike enjoyed being with his beloved wife Betty whom he affectionately called “B”.  He treasured his time with Betty. The moments and memories they both created together were core to his being and gave him some of his most enjoyable years. Whether it was their adventures hiking, hitting countless fruit stands in route to Spectacle Lake, traveling to Long Beach digging for clams; he cherished every single second they were together. He would often proudly share the stories about their adventures, trips to Uwajimaya, Hong Kong Bistro for Dim Sum, or local establishments, “treasures”, they would find during trips. The adventures started and centered around his time with Betty.  His relationship with Betty was the embodiment of a true love story and was beautiful for everyone to see.

Outside of his family and friends, Mike had an impressive career in the clothing industry including working his way to a vice president position at The Bon Marche, running Natural Selection and The Squire Shop stores, working for SanMar to create the company’s international production of the Port Authority Brand, and his last business venture McCoy International, Ltd. Mike was always fashionable, polished and ahead of the times, his attire representative of fashion over the decades, including at one point a mustache and perm – sorry Dad we had to put that one in here.

As with the passing of all loved ones, Mike left this world before we were ready to say goodbye, but we will cherish and honor his memory forever.

A memorial with family and friends will take place at 1 PM, November 9th at the Nile Country Club.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in the memory of Michael Patneaude to Northwest Harvest, O’Dea High School, Boys Town - NE, Father Flanagan’s Boys & Girls Home, St. Francis House, and Catholic Community Services.
