Michael J. Phillips

Michael Joseph Phillips, 37, of St Petersburg, passed away unexpectedly on March 11, 2016. Michael was born on May 30, 1978 in Charleston, West Virginia, but lived all his adult life in St. Petersburg, Florida. Michael loved playing music on his guitar and played in many bands throughout his life. Michael is survived by his father David Wayne Phillips Sr. (Brenda) of Charleston, West Virginia; three children, Michael Joseph Phillips Jr., Brenden David Phillips, and Zoey Alexandria Phillips of St. Petersburg, Florida; brothers, David Wayne Phillips, Jr. (Nikki) of St. Petersburg and John Ray Walls, Jr.(Debra) of Ronda, West Virginia; sister, Lisa Kay Hulsey (John) of Killeen, Texas; uncles, Tony Phillips, Paul Phillips, Bobby Phillips, Richard Phillips (Anita) of Savannah, Georgia; Ronnie Phillips (Theresa) and Tommy Phillips (Charlene) of Georgia; David Clere and Danny Clere of West Virginia; aunts, Bonnie Donaldson (Barry) of Georgia and Belinda May (Charlie) of Florida. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and many, many friends. Michael was predeceased by his mother, Brenda Kay Clere. A visitation will be held from 9-11 am on Tuesday, March 22nd at the David C. Gross Funeral Homes, 6366 Central Avenue, St. Petersburg, where services will begin at 11 am. David C.
