Michael A. Polaro
February 17th, 1967 - September 16th, 2024
Michael A. Polaro, 57, passed away on September 16, 2024, in Gloversville, NY with his love by his side after a brief battle with Cancer. Born on February 17, 1967, in Troy, NY, he graduated from Cohoes High School. Michael, known for his generosity and kindness, was a man of quiet demeanor until he got to know you. That demeanor warmed into vivid storytelling just for fun, that even those who knew him well were never quite sure were true.
Throughout his life, Michael embraced various roles in his career, ultimately finding a sense of belonging at RM Logistics as a FedEx Delivery Driver; where he found his second family.
Michael's life was rich with hobbies and interests. He cherished time with family and friends, had a passion for horse racing, was a skilled poker player, and most recently enjoyed golfing with his closest friends. His love for these activities was only matched by the love he had for his family and friends.
He is survived by his significant other, Charity Borst; their beloved fur baby, Buster; his sons, Dante Polaro, and Dominic Polaro; their mother, Michelle Polaro; his daughter, Yurnell (Jason) Richards; his grandchildren, Amir and Nolan; his brother, Mark Polaro; and his nephew and godson, Sebastian Polaro. Michael's familial circle extended beyond blood relations, encompassing many whom he considered family.
A celebration of life will be held at his cherished camp, referred to as his happy place, on October 6, 2024, at 1560 Skyline Drive, Schenectady, NY, site H13, from 12 pm to 4 pm. Guests are invited to remember Michael in a setting he loved, reflecting his spirit of simply having a good time.
In lieu of traditional remembrances, well-wishers are encouraged to donate Amazon or Walmart gift cards to Mountain Valley Hospice in Gloversville, NY, or NYOH of Amsterdam, NY. These contributions will support families with essential needs during challenging times. Additionally, in honor of one of the cherished little ones in his life, blood donations at American Red Cross centers are greatly appreciated to help those in need of transfusions.
Michael's legacy is marked not only by the lives he touched but also by the compassionate spirit he fostered in his community. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, NY 12078.
