Online Obituaries for Lexington, Frankfort, and Versailles KY Versailles - Michael Gregory Sayre passed away Thursday, March 30, 2017, at the age of 67. Mike is survived by his wife of 44 years, Marcia Wright Sayre. He was the son of William Sayre and Beth Peavler, both of whom preceded him in death. His beloved basset hounds, BeBe and Abner, also preceded him in death. In addition to his wife, Mike is survived by his dad, Dwight Peavler of Lexington; his son, James Corey (Kelly) Sayre of Versailles; his daughter, Kate Sayre (Adam) McDonald of Simpsonville; his five grandchildren, Kennedy and Reid Sayre of Versailles, and Adam, Jack and Will McDonald of Simpsonville. Mike graduated from Tates Creek High School and received his B.S. from Western Kentucky University in 1974. He worked in Human Resources in Kentucky, South Carolina and Seymour, Indiana. While in Seymour, he was a member of the Noon Lions Club and served on the boards for Big Brothers Big Sisters and Special Olympics. He enjoyed golf, horse racing and following the Wildcats. His Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Saturday, April 8, 2017, at St. Leo Catholic Church, conducted by Rev. Danny Schwendeman, followed by his Celebration of Life Service 12-3 PM Saturday at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Road.
