Starting his swimming career at Regis Jesuit High School, Mike quickly earned the nickname †˜Moose†™. Was it because of the calves? Probably. He later in life coached the Broomfield Masters Swim Team where he was often unrivaled in his best events, the backstroke and breaststroke. Mike poured his heart into giving back to the community. He could often be seen calling bingo games for St. Annes for hours, even days at a time. He was part of the Arvada Optimist Club where he encouraged the development of youth and community life. He gave back countless hours to the community through the Sobriety House helping those suffering through addiction. †˜Loud Mike†™ could be seen often at the Denver Cares meeting on Sunday evenings and the Denver Health Psych Ward Friday nights attending to the most in need of his care. His presence at the York St meetings never went unnoticed as his voice carried throughout the room and all the way to Lincoln, Nebraska. Mass will start at 10 a.m. on Tuesday the 31st at St. Anne†™s Catholic church located at 7555 Grant Place, Arvada, CO 80002
