Michael J Sereby passed away on December 2, 2019 surrounded by his family. Mike was born the son of immigrant parents on August 23, 1923 in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. He attended Grinnell College and the City College of New York before proudly serving as a Forward Observer in Battery A of the 292nd Field Artillery during World War II. After the war he married his bride of 62 years, Katherine Pauline Dorsey. They travelled the United States for his work, eventually settling in Indialantic, FL in 1989. Mike lived a long happy life enjoying good health well into his 90's. He lived independently and retained his sharp wit until the moment of his passing. Mike was an avid reader and had a passion for sports particularly University of Connecticut teams, the New England Patriots and The Boston Red Sox. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, humor and devotion to his family. He helped anyone who needed help and called everyone a friend. Mike is survived by four children, Mary O'Grady of Rochester, N.Y, Ellen and Richard Roy of Helotes, TX., Matthew and Angela Sereby of Virginia Beach, VA. Andrea and Rolf Meier of Indialantic, FL. He was a wonderful grandfather to eleven grandchildren, Jessica Paterson, Elizabeth O'Grady, William O'Grady , Jared Roy , Garret Meier, Nicole Sereby, Stephen Sereby, Erin Sereby, Bob Prior, Meghan and Joseph Sereby. In addition, he leaves eleven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. He will be missed dearly by a host of other family and friends including June Morris and his beloved pet, Shadow. He was predeceased by his wife Katherine Pauline, parents, Maksym and Mary, brother Nicholas, sister Sophie, stepson William Prior, grandson Thomas Prior and his son, Michael J. Sereby. At his request, services will be private. He will be interred at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery.
