Michael James Wilson

Michael James Wilson, loving father of Tyler and Mary Elizabeth passed on February 3, 2021 in Lakewood, CO. He is survived by the love of his life, Diane Wilson of Golden, CO his children - Tyler Wilson and wife Jennifer, grandson, Henry and a grandchild on the way; Mary Elizabeth Gibbs and husband Robert; his sister, Pamela Birtolo and husband Peter; brother, Robert Wilson and wife Debbie. Mike was born in Mt. Vernon, IL to C. James and Barbara Whitney Wilson on October 23, 1952. He attended Mt. Vernon Township High School, Rend Lake College, Westminster College, and Thunderbird School of Global Management. On June 26, 1982 he married Diane and they welcomed their children Tyler and Mary Elizabeth soon after. Mike was a devoted father, an avid reader, and a thinker and orator when it came to politics. He enjoyed traveling and working as a Vice-president of RMG, managing multi-million dollar consulting projects for many years. He was also a director of manufacturing for Roper, Munsingwear and other apparel companies in Minnesota, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama and Colorado. He enjoyed fly fishing, snowshoeing and was a novice gun smith during his retirement years. Mike belonged to Arvada Presbyterian Church in Arvada, CO. His charm and quick wit will be missed by many. A memorial service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Mountain Time Friday, February 12 at the Aspen Mortuary in Lakewood, CO. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, attendance is limited.
