Micheal Lynn Swicegood

December 8th, 1947 - June 4th, 2024

In Loving Memory

 Micheal Lynn Swicegood, 76 of Denver;  born on December 8, 1947, in Oakridge, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2024, in Aurora, Colorado. He was a beloved husband, father, and a respected member of his community. Micheal is survived by his devoted spouse, Sungae Kim Swicegood, and his son, Jamie Swicegood. He leaves behind a legacy of dedication and service, both to his family and his country. 

 

After earning a Master Degree in Business, Micheal applied his skills and knowledge as an Electrician at Buckley Air Base in Aurora, where his work was highly valued. His career is distinguished by his honorable service in the United States Navy from 1986 to 1993, where he achieved the rank of AECS. During his military service, Micheal was recognized with numerous decorations and medals, including the National Defense Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal with Valor, Combat Action Ribbon, Presidential Unit Citation, Navy Unit Commendation, Meritorious Unit Commendation, and the Navy "E" Ribbon. 

 

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects and honor Micheal’s memory during a Time of Visitation on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Romero Funeral Home ~ Chapel of Repose, located at 15150 E Iliff Ave, Aurora, CO. Following the visitation, a Military Honors Interment will take place at 2:00 pm at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Attendees are requested to gather at Staging Area A, from where they will be directed to the Pavilion for the Honors ceremony. 

 

Micheal Lynn Swicegood's life was marked by his unwavering commitment to service and his enduring love for his family. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
