April 22nd, 1963 - March 23rd, 2009
"West Springfield, Michele I. (Zombik) Hellyar, 45, died peacefully on Monday, March 23, with her family by her side. Born on April 22, 1963, she was the daughter of Michael and Carol (Suzor) Zombik of West Springfield. She was raised in West Springfield and a graduate of Cathedral High School and received her Bachelor's degree in Nursing from Our Lady of The Elms College. Michele was a very skilled and compassionate nurse for the past 23 years; she most recently worked for Renaissance Manor in Holyoke. She loved the ocean, Red Sox and Patriots. She was predeceased by her husband, Brian Hellyar, in 2007. Along with her parents, she will be deeply missed by her son, Nicholas Wyckmans of Easthampton, her brother Paul Zombik and his wife Natalie and their children, Christopher and Katherine of Holyoke as well as her grandfather, Alfred Zombik of West Springfield, her aunt, Shirley Floyd of East Hampton, a cousin, Kimberly Kellough and her uncle, Martin Suzor of RI. Her three step children, Kevin, Matthew and Casey Hellyar also survive her. Calling hours will be on Friday, March 27 at Beers and Story South Hadley Funeral Home, 646 Newton St., from 4 to 6:30 p.m. with a Celebration of Life Service at 6:30 p.m. Memorial donations in Michele's name may be made to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105."
