Michelle Guerrier Barnes
June 18th, 1953 - June 15th, 2012
Michelle Guerrier Barnes, 58, of Saratoga Springs, NY, formerly of Long Island, NY. Born in Los Angeles, CA on June 18, 1953. Mother of six wonderful children and surrogate mother to dozens, lost her fight against cancer at 10:45 pm, on Friday, June 15th, 2012 at the Saratoga Hospital . She parted from our presence surrounded by her loving family and friends who all will dearly miss her physical existence among us while cherishing every memory of her kind, compassionate and humorous spirit. While her battle against a god-awful aggressive cancer was seemingly short, Michelle's family and friends came in force to try to help her fight the scourge taking her from them. But, as was her way, even through the terrible pain she suffered and endured, Michelle sought to the very end to comfort her loved ones. Unfortunately, Michelle left us amidst many heart-felt tears of utter sorrow, for our own personal loss of a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. We now have a void in our lives and hearts impossible to ever fill. Michelle, you are so very, very missed by so very, very many. We love you still. Survivors include her loving family, three sons, Jack D. Rivera of Saratoga Springs, NY; John E. Rivera Tina of Gainesville, FL and Michael D. Guerrier of Schenectady, NY; Three daughters, Renee N. Bastady Stephen Gyarmathy of Porter Corners, NY, Joan E. Bastady Darin Kling of Chandler, AZ and Georgeann F. Bramer Matthew of Amsterdam, NY; two brothers, Joseph Guerrier of Saratoga Springs, NY and Robert Hitshew Phyllis of Almont, NY; a sister, Nina C. Feik Ernie of Rock Hill, SC; six grandchildren, Amanda, Sierra, Jacub, Jeffrey, Ethan, and Sara; a great grandson, Robbie III; several nieces and nephews also survive. Michelle was predeceased by her parents, Jack Laverne Guerrier and Mildred Irene Sanford and a brother Danny Guerrier. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at 6:00 pm at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY. Family will receive relatives and friends one hour prior from 5 to 6 pm at the funeral home. Cremation will follow the next day at the Vale Cemetery Crematorium in Schenectady, NY. For those who would honor this special woman, it was her wish that in lieu of flowers donations be made in her memory to the funeral home to assist in the cost of her funeral services.
