Mickey Joe Hammonds, age 60 of Kingsport, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 25, 2024.  Mickey was born on October 12, 1963, in Sullivan County, TN to Rev. Garland and Helen Hammonds.  On November 3, 1998, Mickey married the love of his life, Terry Williams, and after 25 years of a beautiful marriage and life together, she survives.

Mickey loved the Lord, and he loved his family.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing golf, softball, and weightlifting. Mickey was the true meaning of a friend. He was always willing to help anyone, whether be a friend or a stranger; he was a man of integrity.  Mickey enjoyed tinkering around and building different projects.  He was a hard worker and a great provider for his family.

Mickey was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Sherry Meade, and Vickey Hammonds; and one brother, Rickey Hammonds.  Left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife, Terry Hammonds; son, Brian Pendleton; daughter, Tiffany Cassel and husband David; three grandchildren, Olivia Cassel, Grant Cassel, and Lauren Dunn; two great grandchildren, Ryker Dunn, and Emmett Dunn; two brothers, Jerry Hammonds, and Ronald Hammonds; two sisters, Donna Collins and husband John, and Crystal McCoy and husband Craig; and many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends. 

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Carter Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport.  Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm with Dr. Todd Cassel and Jim Cassell officiating. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at 3:00 pm at East Lawn Memorial Park.  Brian Pendleton, David Cassel, Paul Hutson, Bob France, Ronald McMurray, Phil Sykes, and Paul Fox will be serving as pallbearers. Grant Cassel and Olivia Cassel will be serving as honorary pallbearers.  Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 2:50 pm.
