Micki "Mary" Shafer

Mom was born in Laramie, Wyoming as Mary Ann Caveny. She spent most of her youth in Omaha, Nebraska. She moved to Denver in her early teens, she went to North High School in Denver, after completing high school she went to work at a print shop. She meet and eventually married Jack L. Shafer in November 1962. Together they had 3 children, she was a stay at home mom and loved to be with and taking care of the kids. She loved to play golf, she was a member at Indian Tree Women’s Golf Club, then she became a member of Lake Arbor Women’s Golf Club. Mom was also an avid camper, and she loved to fish. She loved animals, any of them; dogs, cats, squirrels, and birds to name a few. She always had sweets and snacks that she would always share, she had a sweet tooth, just like all of us. But, what brought her the most happiness in this world were her children and grandchildren. She is survived by friend and companion of 25 years, Susan von Feist. Her daughter Cheryl (Scott) Gibson, Jack B. Shafer, and Shiela McMillin, her grandchildren Sam and Keyven Gibson, Marc and Nick Shafer, Magan, Mallory, and Monty McMillin. Nieces, Nephews and numerous loving friends. Celebration of Mom’s Life will be held at a later date. She Will Be Missed By Many.
