Mike Ramirez
May 31st, 1954 - December 23rd, 2021
On December 23rd 2021 Mike "Big Mike" Ramirez, age 67, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. Mike Ramirez will be loved and missed by many as he was an important pillar of the community as well as a dutiful family man. He is survived by his longtime partner Gloria, his sons, his daughters, his grandchildren, his siblings, nephews and nieces, and many more who considered him as their own family member. Mike Ramirez spent his early days growing up in a corporate encampment picking vegetables with his family. He got the opportunity to move to Salinas where he would lay down his permanent roots and eventually become a union cement mason. Mike Ramirez was more than a hard worker and loving family man. He was a civil rights activist and even got to march with Cesar Chavez. He was also the first president of the New Arrivals car club. Mike was well known, respected, and loved by all who knew him. Mike had a warm heart. He was always thinking of others and knew the right words to say in any situation. He was a devoted grandfather who provided support, wisdom, and encouragement. He adored his grandchildren and they will forever be grateful for all the happy and memorable moments that were shared. The love he had for them will always be treasured. Mike, Big Mike, Uncle Mike, Gramps, Coach will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and community. He will be remembered most for his generous, kind, and loving heart- as well as his sharp wit and incredible sense of humor. We will always carry your memory in our hearts. We love you! Visitation will take place for Mike on Wednesday, January 5th from 1-5pm with a Rosary being prayed at 3pm at Healey Mortuary Chapel. Thursday, January 6th will be a Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Church at 1:30pm. Burial at Queen of Heaven Cemetery will be held on Mon. Jan. 10th at 1:00pm.

We Entrusted Mike Ramirez's Care To
Healey Mortuary
At Healey, we treat our Salinas Valley community members like family. Our story begins after World War II when Veteran Herbert C. Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
