Mildred Luena Childers
January 16th, 1939 - August 13th, 2024
Mildred Luena Childers (Ballard), our beloved Momma & Mawmaw was born on January 16, 1939, in Rock Hill, SC, to the late James Lee "Jimmie" Ballard and Willie Beatrice Shehan Ballard. Mildred passed away peacefully at her home in Bluffton, SC on the morning of August 13, 2024 at the age of 85.
Mrs. Childers is survived by her children, MaLinda B. Swett, Randall "Randy" L. Blue, Jr. (Tania), Kathy B. Griffis (Phil), Crystal B. Casler (Mike), Markie C. Banks (Ben), and Diana C. Hammond. She will be dearly missed by her children, sister, Marcella B. “Teenie" Neal, sister-in-law, Diane Ballard, as well as by her many cherished grandchildren, great, great-great, and great-great-great-grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved her and were loved by her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Rollie Childers, Sr., several step-children, her siblings Lunette B. Deese, Beatrice B. Bolin, Emmie B. Brown, Palmer R. "Pam" Ballard, and Kenlow J. "Jack" Ballard.
Mildred and Rollie will be placed together in their final resting place during a private memorial service on Friday, September 6, 2024, at 2 p.m. in the Beaufort National Cemetery in Beaufort, SC. Condolences may be made to the family at Simplicity: Bluffton, SC.
