Mildred Irene Percifield
May 25th, 1922 - May 11th, 2013
Mildred Irene Percifield, 90, of Marsing, died Saturday, May 11, 2013 at home of natural causes. Mildred was born May 25, 1922 in Ashton, Idaho the second of eight children to Nels and Irene Larsen. They moved to the fish hatchery in Sandpoint when she was six; then to Marsing when she was eight. She met dad, Wayne Percifield, when they lived close to each other in Marsing. They married before Christmas in 1939, and were together until his death in 1977. They had nine children, Richard [Helen], Patricia [Joel], Sandra, Robert [Betty], Susan [Larry], Jess, Joe, George [Doreen], and Glen [Megan]. After mom retired she puttered in her yard and bowled in the winter. If one of us said, “would you like to go on a trip?” she would be ready. One year, she went to Canada for Glen and Megan’s wedding, and by the end of the month she was in Mexico with Sandra. She enjoyed two cruises and a trip to Hawaii; “have bag, will travel.” She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Wayne, sons Richard and George, a great-granddaughter, a great-grandson, two sisters and four brothers. Mildred is survived by her remaining children, a sister Belva Gordon, 19 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Graveside services will be held Thursday, May 16, 2013, at 2:00 PM at Marsing-Homedale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Marsing Community Center. Service Information
