Mildred Zarkas
September 4th, 1922 - November 15th, 2010
Millie was born on Sept. 24, 1922 in Cohocton, NY. She is survived by her sisters Mary Cooper of Wallace, NY and Betty Ash of Merritt Island. She was preceded in death by her husband William. Millie served with the Marines during World War II. Upon returning home, she became a hairdresser. She moved to Florida in 1970 and settled in Margate. In 1989 she and her husband Bill moved to Merritt Island. Millie served as President of the VFW Aux. 10131 in Cape Canaveral. She was a past officer at Challenger 7 American Legion Post in Cape Canaveral. She belonged to the Women of the Moose in Merritt Island. She was a member of the WOTM College of Regents. She was a Past President of the Ladies of the Island Elks in Merritt Island. She and Bill were very active in MSC. Bill was the National President and Millie served as both National Secretary and Treasurer. Memorial services will be held at Moose Lodge # 2073, 3150 N Courtenay Pkwy, Merritt Island on December 1st at 3pm.
