Milton Thayer, Jr.

August 5th, 1938 - August 29th, 2024

Milton Thayer Jr., 86, of Clockville,NY., passed away peacefully VA Medical Center on Thursday, August 29th with family by his side. He was born in Kirkville to Milton and Della (Hunt) Thayer on August 5, 1938. Milt graduated from Chittenango High and went to serve his country in the United States Airforce. After his service, he was employed by the Carrier Corp. for over 30 years. In 1964 he married Judith Anne Greene and had four boys, Brian, Keith, Dale and Kevin. 

Milton was predeceased by his parents; siblings, Malcom, Don and Donna; his second wife Helen Thayer (Pickering).

He is survived by, his sons; Brian (Cindy) Thayer, Keith Thayer (Elaine Wagner), Dale (Danielle) Thayer and Kevin Thayer (Heather Sorrenson); 8 grandchildren, Jalaina, Jared, Justin, Cy, Brandyn, Dale, Felicity and Alisa; 15 (soon to be 16) great-grandchildren; and sister, Joan Thayer.

A calling hour will be held from 11AM to 12PM on Friday, September 6th at Ballweg and Lunsford Funeral Home, 4612 S. Salina St. Syracuse, with a graveside service to follow at Onondaga Valley Cemetery.
