Minard Cal Lingenfelter
November 18th, 1927 - August 14th, 2009
Mr. Minard "Cal" Lingenfelter, age 81, of Broadalbin, died Friday, August 14, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam. He was born on November 18, 1927 in Vail Mills, the son of the late John and Blanche Richards Lingenfelter. He served in the Army from 1946 to 1947 in Germany in the 909th Heavy Automotive Maintenance Company. He was later employed by General Electric Company in Schenectady in the gas turbine department until his retirement. Cal was married in 1975 to Anne Weiss who died in 1985. He is survived by several nieces and nephews, including Debra M. Jeffords, who provided care for him, and her husband Dan Matuk and their son, Justis, of Broadalbin; his grandchildren, Laura DeKruger Dan, Sara Cook Jason, David Weiss Alisa, James Jennings, Jeffrey Jennings Sue and Jonathan Jennings Erin. Cousins also survive. Cal was preceded in death by his siblings, Harold Lingenfelter, Roger Lingenfelter, Arthur Lingenfelter, Marion B. Jeffords, Mildred Kelley and Grace Semione DeFabio. The family will receive relatives and friends from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tuesday at Jeffords & Stewart Funeral Home, 85 W. Main St; Broadalbin, where a funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. with the Rev. Linda Martin officiating. Interment will take place at Broadalbin Union Rural Cemetery, Broadalbin. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the First Presbyterian Church of Broadalbin, 54 W. Main St; Broadalbin, NY 12025.
