Miriam Gibson Blanton, 88, passed away at home on August 4, 2022. She was born on September 27, 1933 in Nichols, SC to the late Noah and Bertha Gibson. She is survived by her beloved husband of 68 years, Clarence Douglas (Doug) Blanton; daughter, Debbie Lee (Wayne); and sons, Michael (Terri) and Jeff and son-in-law Bobby Baine; grandchildren, Kelly Baine, Katie Shuler (Jason), Wayne Lee, Jr. (Jordan), Justin Lee (Stephanie) and Lindsay Colvin (Josh); great grandchildren, Conner Baine, Kaylee and Landon Shuler, Olivia and Juliet Lee, Jackson and Brooks Lee and Charlotte Colvin; sisters, Shirley O’Connor, Gloria Pittman, Barbara Carter (Johnny), Cathy Gaskins, Helen Phipps, Terri Owens (Mitchell) and brother-in-law Gene McKenzie. All of her nieces and nephews were special to her. She is predeceased by her daughter, Diane Baine; her sister, Peggy McKenzie; brother, James D. Gibson; brother-in-laws Jerry Phipps, Louie Pittman, Jack Gaskins and John O’Connor; nephews, Phillip Phipps and John E. Carter III. Visitation will be on Saturday, August 6, 2022 from 5 – 7 PM at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, SC. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, August 7, 2022 at 11 AM at the Blanton Family Cemetery in Nichols, SC.
