Miriam Marguerite (Mima) Arrouet Lindquist was born on June 20, 1938 in Port Chester, New York to parents Jacques Arrouet and Grace Caton Arrouet. She was the firstborn of two children. Mima graduated from Maryview School of Nursing in 1958 and worked as a Registered Nurse for over 25 years at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, Long Island, New York. Mima married the love of her life, Allen P. Lindqquist, of Glenwood Landing, New York in 1962. Together they raised two daughters on Long Island’s North Shore. In 1994 Mima and Al retired to Venice Island, Florida. Mima had a very deep and abiding faith in our Lord Jesus Christ having been a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Vence for over 22 years. She volunteered in the St. Mark’s Mission Ministry serving the farm families of the Immokalee Community. Ever the lifelong caregiver, Mima also volunteered for many years in St. Mark’s Infant Daycare Program. She was known by both friends and family for her enormous capacity to love, honor and care for all those who entered her journey through life. In 2014 Mima began treatment for Stage IV Lung Cancer. During this difficult time Mima remained a true warrior approaching her valiant battle with both optimism and great courage. She passed peacefully at home with family by her side to be with our Lord on Friday, November 18, 2016. Mima was predeceased by her parents, Jacques and Grace and, her husband, Allen Lindquist. She leaves behind her brother Andre Arrouet, her sister-in-law Patsy Arrouet; her daughters, Gail Allison Lindquist and Kali Nagler and, son-in-law Herb Nagler. Mima was the proud grandmother of Savannah-Grace Lindquist, Michael, and Jared Nagler. She was beloved Aunt to Rob and Teresa Arrouet and their sons, Christopher and Frankie. A memorial service will take place on Friday, November 25 at 11:00AM in the sactuary of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Venice, Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church or to Tidewell Hospice.
