Moira E Geronimos
May 14th, 1956 - August 12th, 2020
Moira McGarry Geronimos - Taken suddenly while visiting from New York. Moira is survived by her loving husband Tom, son Thomas James TJ, and last surviving sibling Deirdre McGarry Eginton. Moira's parents Eunice Dickson and James McGarry of NYC, as well as siblings Sheila Smith and Seamus, predeceased her. After her mother's death she went to live with relatives in Spain. She attended schools abroad and upon her return continued her education majoring in Biology and Chemistry at Adelphi University in Garden City on Long Island. She put her education to good use afterward, being employed by Estee Lauder, as a Quality Control Manager specializing in fragrances. As witnessed by the many photos of scenes of her happy days at the beach in Point Lookout NY where she lived as a child and later as a young woman, she was a lover of sun, sea, and sand. This is also where she met, fell in love with, and married her husband Tom. They celebrated their 1990 marriage in that same small beach community. They welcomed a son Thomas James in 1995. He was much loved and became the center of their lives. In 1997 they moved to Smithtown, in NY, where they've resided since. An unfortunate series of accidents, plus severe osteoporosis, ended her career and kept her in constant pain for the rest of her life. Her handling of her condition amazed doctors and was an inspiration to those who knew her. Moira was also devoted to her faith and attended Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Indialantic, while in Florida. She attended a spiritual retreat here as well and many many new friends with her sincere heart and beautiful smile. She will be deeply missed.
