Mona Hagen Hannan

July 5th, 1949 - October 26th, 2015

Mona was born in Hillsboro, Kansas, to Lowell and Ethel (Loewen) Hagen, and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska. She is survived by her son, Cody Hannan; her mother Ethel Hagen; her siblings Carla Piper, Barry Hagen, and Gay Dunn. Preceding her in death were her father, Lowell Hagen, and her husband, Mark Hannan. Mona was a talented musician, an excellent student, and a good friend. Because of her independent and industrious nature she began finding odd jobs at an early age. Her business career began while she was in college working as an executive secretary for two Nebraska State Senators. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in 1971 at the University of Nebraska. She then taught at a business college until moving to California two years later. In California, Montana, and Oregon she worked in a variety of business environments: Law (as a paralegal), banking, realty, and insurance. She married Mark Hannan in 1982 and together they raised their son, Cody, her most treasured accomplishment.

Carla

Candle lit by Carla I love you Mona. I'll miss our weekly sister talks on the phone. Who is going to tell me when Nebraska football is on TV? I'll be thinking of you constantly. May you find peace. Love, Carla

Cody Hannan

I should have done this a long time ago. Maybe I've put it off because I try my best not to think that both you and dad are gone. Maybe it's because whenever I think about you guys I become sad and I'm unable to appreciate the memory. Sometimes when my mind wanders I begin to think about our last conversation and it makes me cry every time. I still have more to say. I wish you were still here. I love you.
